recently i direct wired the rad. fan to an ignition source because the fan wouldnt come on. and now the motor wont start unless the fan is running. the fan motor finally burnt up and now the car wont start

Sounds like the fan was acting like a fuse to the ignition source.

You need to reconnect everything as it was before and check your relays, fuses in the fuse compartment in the engine bay and make sure everything is go.

If you have a multimeter turn your ignition to the on position and probe the coil supply wire with the black lead of the multimeter on a good engine ground. You should read 10-12 volts here.

If you're not getting voltage here then a fuse/relay is out. Or you overloaded the switch or a wire with the load of the fan+ whatever else that wire was feeding.

The ting is that the radiator fan comes on from a thermostat switch , now disconnect the fan , and trace it back to your thermostat switch , you need a new one !!, now for your coil check your main fuse or ignition fuse , then check if you have power going to your coil , obviously you don't , but if you do, then you need a new coil , and also could be your ignition computer module check that , good luck .
