A friend of mine custom-built my computer for me, and although I see four slots near the back left corner of the computer, in which I have already inserted a video card, I can't find any memory stick/card slots anywhere! Someone showed me what they look like on a computer at work, but nothing similar appears in my computer. Someone else said they should be by the fan, but I seem to have 2 fans, one at the back right corner of the computer, and one at the front right corner, near the hard drive. The guy who built my computer isn't being very helpful or responsive to my emails about this matter. Can anyone help me find my memory card slots?

Hi. The memory is almost always located as close to the CPU as possible. May be 2, 3, or 4 slots. Some will already have memory in it so may not see all the slots.

The card slots on the back of your machine are for expansion cards. Forget them. There should be two, three, or four slots, some occupied, near the fan on the motherboard (that is that big square board which everthing else is connected to. The filled slots have sticks of memory around 4 to 4.5 inches long. They may not be visible due to the ribbon cables that connect your drives. I hope that helps.

if you have open slots(wich you may not)they will be somewhere between your pci slots(the slots your video card is in) and the prossesor.they will have litle black clips on each end of the slots that flip up when you insert the stick.there will also be atleast one stick already there that should make it easy to find, but if you have more than one stick already you may not have an open slot..goodluck

Are you speaking of the SDDR slots or RAM slots or are you speaking of usb ports to plug in flash memory. The RAM slots will usually be located close to your fan on the inside of the tower... USB on the outside, could be the front or back depending on set up..

he probably didn't build it with them. did you tell him to build with them as an option? you are refering to an external memory stick slot correct?
