It will cost more than the Blue Book value to repair it. I had one of those cars. They run forever. I had to sell it because I just got too tired of driving it!

Seriously, the labor costs of taking the engine apart to replace the gasket will be the largest expense, and we're talking at least 800 bucks.

Good luck!

The head gasket is in the middle of the engine, and it would involve tearing that all down, and then replacing it. The part is cheap, but the labor is expensive. I hope that you have a friend that is a mechanic. Around 800 dollars, that is a low ball figure.

are you sure its a blown head gasket . and not a cracked head ? is the oil milky ? if motor got real hot ? could have damaged block also may need to be resurfaced . probably save money by short block and rebuild head .you can do-it yourself around$ 1000
