Please give your opinion on whether it would be good/bad to have standardized dress in public schools?

I am not talking about uniforms, but simply standardized dress. Having an actual dress code that is strictly adhered to. What is your opinion and why do you feel that way?

i think that a standardized dress in public schools would be good. i'm in eighth grade and some of the stuff girls, and guys, wear are not exactly school appropriate. i would LOVE to go to a school that has uniforms. i admit, it is nice to be able to decide what you want to wear, but I (and i'm only speaking my opinion) think uniforms, or even a dress code, would be cool. definitely get guys to pull up their pants and to wear shirts that cover their ENTIRE upper body, and get girls to wear longer than four inch skirts. sure, short skirts are cute, but not when you can see your underwear. and shirts that are low cut make you look hot, but you don't need to look hot for school. that's just my opinion.

No. I believe strongly in uniforms. They even out the playing field. Even if you were to have standardized dress codes, there will still be brands, styles and fashions that people will wear and those that simply cannot afford to wear them.
Uniforms are the only way to go.

I think there should be some sort of dress code but not that strict that you can't wear a tank top or a skirt that goes above your knees. Sometimes uniforms are good but the really don't let you express how your feeling that day or who you are.

I agree with it but without that many restrictions like what colors you are allowed to were my school has made us were something like uniforms this year

I am in favor of it.Kids need to pay attention to what they're learning in school,not trivial things like what everyone else is wearing or who has more money.

it is good. It give more discipline to the student and they are not worrying about what evryone else thinks of what you are wearing.
