Ok, so here's the situation. My friend and I both like the same guy. He's very handsome and smart. He likes to swim and so do we. The problem is, I can't tell if he likes me or not. Is there something I can do so I can get to know him better that won't seem like I'm coming on too strong? If I don't get to know him soon, my friend will go out with him and she knows I like him. It seems as though she would do this all though I'm her closest friend. I'm very shy and I don't want to ask him out straight up because I would be humiliated in front of the whole school. Please Help!

Talk to him and see if you can get any vibes flirt and see if he flirts back. Look and see if he touches you at all. If he likes you you will know.

I had the same problem once. But if you go out with this guy your friend would be pissed off. She knows that you know that she likes him.Think about. You would be mad if she gets the guy. And she knows that you like him. This might stop you'lls friendship for a while. So be sure your ready for that. Well this is what you should do if you want to know him. Meet him at the swimmin pool by "accident" and just talk and be yourself. I f he doesn't like you then he's not worth it. To know if he likes you get one of your other trust worthy friends and tell them to ask him if he likes you. But you didn't ask.

as shy as you are, let me tell you from experience, some guys are shy too. The best thing to do is maybe get a friendship going and let him know how you feel, maybe he does like you too and he is too shy to tell you. Dont miss your chance! oh and your friend doesnt seem like much of a friend if she would go in and ask him out when she knows you like him.

While you are upset that your friend would go for the same guy as you, you have to admit you are willing to do the same thing that she is.
In order to get the guy you should get his phone number and call him and just talk. Or try sitting with him at lunch. Just try to find him when your friend isnt going to be there.
Also if you are willing to risk your friendship for this guy you should reevaluate your friendship...maybe it isnt that great if you are both willing to screw the other one over.
