I would also try the freezer trick. But to add on to that one, put some ice on it for a while. It works a lot better, and you don't ruin the whole pants. You just get the stain part slightly damp.

Try rubbing a little peanut butter on it. It works like a charm for hair, I guess it would do the same thing for pants.

Put your pants in the freezer for a couple hours. The gum will pop right off.

Try leaving it in the freezer, it should go hard and have a fun couple of hours picking it off!

The cool it with ice and scrape it off is best....But
if that doesn't remove it all, Acetone will dissolve it.
Before you try the acetone on the spot, try it on an Inconspicous part of the material to make sure it doesn't dissolve it, if it is synthetic. (probably won't but try anyway)

and

USE ACETONE OUTSIDE....IT IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE AND COULD BLOW UP YOUR HOUSE IF YOU USE IT INSIDE !

Do the freezer deal, it is the best and it will not destroy the clothes!

Ice cubes then try peeling it off... a liitle bit at a time.........
