As a rule most cars made from the late 80's / early 90's onwards have a speed governor set around 118-120mph, limiting all automobiles with very few exceptions to this top speed.
In some cases, the owner's manual will state the fact (my 1991 bmw 318is manual specifically tells me the car's top speed is governed to 118mph, which fairly eliminates my urge to test it lol... I wish all owner's manuals would simply and accurately state this, for factual knowledge is at least half the satisfaction).
While I suspect this was done to guarantee succesful police chases, it can not be argued that safety is at stake and even the governed top speed is way too fast and a serious danger to life and basic survival.
The only exception I know of is the Corvette, most or all pre 1990 cars, and probably most really high model sports cars such as the porsche / mercedes / etc but it usually has to be a top of the line model for the mfg to consider not installing the governor, and so it is not only a well-kept secret (for one few can afford to find out) but also rarely tested for accuracy.

The answer is GSX's do not have a speed governor, so however fast you're going at 7500rpm (when the rev limiter kicks in on a manual I believe) at the 5th gear is your top speed. The GST is limited to 130 I believe. I'm not sure on the non turbo models.

I was a teenager just a few years ago and please don't buy a car on how fast it is! It's hard to swallow, but I'm so glad my parents gave me some crapper for 1,000 bucks. You'll end up getting tickets cuz you just can't help but speed. Even worse you could lose your license for racing. When I got a speedy car that's what happened to me. And I barely got by making enough money to pay for the car, insurance, gas let alone paying for a dang ticket. But to answer your question, depending on the model, it's about 125-130mph.

What did you want to know? Eclipses from 1995-1999 are the same. Are you talking about non-turbo or turbo? Do you want to know horsepower or quarter mile time? Did you want to know top speed? You have to be more specific.
