My husband and I are going to Louisville Ky for the weekend. We would like to go out to eat somewhere that has local flavors and flair. Maybe somewhere close to the river ? Any ideas??? We also need ideas for breakfast.
Thanks!!

On the Indiana side of the river there is a KingFish Restaurant, a Buckhead Mountain Grill, and a Rocky's Italian Grill. All 3 are on the Ohio River and have fantastic views of downtown Louisville across the river. The 3 are located on Riverside Drive in Jeffersonville.

Although not on the river, there are several good restaurants north of Eastern Parkway on Bardstown Road (sometimes called restaurant row) and there far too many to mention.

There are also several good restaurants on Frankfort Avenue with The Irish Rover and El Mundo being very popular and located in the 2300 block of Frankfort Avenue.

For breakfast, Lynn's Paradise Cafe on Barret Avenue is something you should definitely try. It is a local institution that specializes in their breakfasts.

Defiantly Lynn's Paradise Cafe for breakfast. It's on Barret, not Baxter.

For dinner you could go to the Brown Hotel for an original Hot Brown. Or if you are looking for something more casual and less expensive, Cunningham's Restaurant has been around for ages. Both on Fourth Street and not far from the River.

Joe's Crab Shack is by the river. You'll want to check out 4th street while you are there. There lots of things in there. Masterson's is by UofL and is a good lunch buffett (they cater to local businesses as well).

Bonefish is a really good one! It's expensive but worth it. The waiters/waitresses are really nice and you will be well taken care of. The food is AWESOME as well. It's also a fancy one so be sure to dress up! Good luck!!! The link is below.
