I just got the John Fogerty greatest hits albums about a week ago from Borders (grew up on him/CCR but had no CDs for them before).

I've had the following songs stuck in my head through the week.

Lookin' Out My Back Door
Almost Saturday Night
Hey Tonight
... and now, Lodi.

So which is the catchiest (not necessarily best, but which do you have in your head now?) Any of these, or none of the above?

... and what's your favorite (need not be any of these)?

And any suggestions for getting Lodi out? I tried singing it backwards already!

Suzie Q is not on the album, alas! (But most of the big hits are. Yes, even Centerfield (although I already have that on another recording, so could do without it).

UPDATE: Someone once told me if you want to get a song out of your head, sing, "The Girl From Ipanema." It works like a charm! (Rats! Now I've got THAT song running through my head! lol)

Before I even clicked on your question for the details, the song that popped into my head was, "Lookin' Out My Back Door." It really doesn't get any catchier than that!

And with lyrics like the following, it just doesn't get any loonier!

"There's a giant doing cartwheels
a statue wearing high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures playing on the lawn

a Dinosaur Victrola
list'nin' to Buck Owens
doo doo doo lookin' out my back door.

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band
won't you take a ride on the flying spoon."

It always amuses me when I hear this song. And now I'VE got it running through my head! Thanks! lol ; )

All of them are good. Personally, I like Up Around the Bend the most....not sure why, but I love it!

I get songs stuck in my head all the time, lol. It'll eventually get out of there, but sometimes it takes a while.

Maybe if you listen to Susie Q, then Lodi will go away,
Except then you have to get rid of Susie Q somehow...
Don't worry, a lot worse things could be stuck in your head.

"lookin' out my back door' has to be the catchiest one from his ccr days...EVERYBODY knows that one...

"almost saturday night", "rockin' all over the world", "lonely teardrops", "walkin' in a hurricane", "knockin' on yer door" and "rock and roll girls" are my all time faves from his albums
