What University or college has the best literature(or Comparative literature) department in the world?

US News reports a three-way tie between the University of California at Berkeley, Harvard University and Yale University has the top rated English Literature departments in the USA.

I suspect that Cambridge and Oxford have similar rankings if you expand to the UK.

The rankings for literature are pretty close to the general rankings. Any top school would have a top literature program.

In the US, the Ivy League schools and the "Ivy Equivalents" of Stanford, Duke, Rice, Northwestern and Chicago also have great programs. Also, many of the better state universities like Berkeley, Michigan, Virginia, UNC, Minnesota and Texas have great programs.
