yes because we can't be the only ones out here in this BIG universe

Yes.
In the strictest sense of the word "alien" we are all alien to this planet.
Several thousand years ago, no one knows the exact date, man was put together by a super being or extraterrestrial that manufactured planet Earth itself along with the rest of the matter in the known universe. Humans are not indigenous life forms to Earth as many uninformed so called “scientists” would have you believe.
The theory of Evolution, will someday take the road of the harmless fairy tail, but for now it is part of a religious belief system that has invaded our educational institutions and our cultural centers worldwide.
One may say that this explanation is ridiculous, however over five billion people on this planet subscribe to this. The explanation is more plausible than that of the evolutionary models.
With that let’s go back to your original question. The universe is vast. As Carl Sagan, one high priest of Atheism put it, “there are billions and billions of stars”. He believed that the odds of humans being the only life form in the universe is so small that there is no name for that number.
On this point I agree with Sagan, statistically it is impossible for there not to be aliens

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

I would like to. I am a great fan of Art Bell, but I don't I feel if there were aliens we would know about it and have more proof. Having said that I am an Alien as I am from the UK....

The late Carl Sagan was asked this question. He was proud to be agnostic when asked whether there was life elsewhere in the universe.

When he refused to commit himself, his interlocutor pressed him for his 'gut feeling.'

His immortal response "But I try not to think with my gut. Really, it's okay to reserve judgment until the evidence is in."

Good arguments can be mounted both ways. But until we actually discover aliens by exercise of the faculty of reason (not faith) it is an open question.

Yes, I beileve that the stories in the bible are people who have seen technological advanced technology and called them magic and miracles. Why should humans be the only intelligent life form in our vast universe?

there is no law of physics preventing them to exist. also there is about a trillion galaxies, suns, and planets out in the universe. you would think one of them had advanced life forms like ours. you must be completely ignorant if you think we our the only life form in all the trillion upon trillion light years (possibly endless) of the universe.
