The above is a list of characteristics of a facist state -

Germany's nazi party Italy etc

If America has a lot of these characteristics then it is a facist state.

If it walks like a duck swims like a duck and quacks like a duck then it is a duck.

1. Exuberant nationalism - It also has exuberant anti-nationalism
2. Enemmies identified [sic] - Arab and Islamic terrorists. Check.
3. Rights Disappear - I haven't seen a single right of mine disappear. Have you?
4. Secrecy Demanded - That is typical in wartime. Lincoln suspended habeus corpus, and FDR interned American citizens
5. Military Glorified - I wouldn't call it glorified. I don't see parades through the city streets to show military might.
6. Corporations Shielded - "The business of America is business." - Calvin Coolidge, 1925
7. Corruption Unchecked - in the US, that's nothing new. See Clinton, William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, Sandy Burger, Huey Long, Nixon, Grant, Jim McGreedy, et al.
8. Media Controlled - by whom? Certainly not by the US gov't. The MSM has nothing positive to say about the Bush Administration
9. Rampant Sexism - Where?
10. Intellectual Bullying - You mean the extreme-left college profs who give Ds to more conservative students?
11. Militarized Police - ?huH
12. Elections Stolen - And if it was Gore who won in 2000, the Repooplicans would be bitching that the Democraps stole the election.
* I count five out of twelve

This post seems to be a weak way of equating Bush and Hitler. If you want to experience fascism---and I mean real fascism, not perceived fascism---I suggest North Korea or Iran.

OK, so I have to ask... Knowing where you're gong with this, what rights exactly have you lost? If you are referring to the wire taps without a warrant, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that law has been on the books since 1928. Secrecy demanded? You know something I don't and aren't going to tell me? Military glorified? Corruption unchecked? I'll buy that last one. Ken Starr was bought off by Bill Cinton, who had me (and about 1,000 Marines) poised to launch an unprovolked attack as a diversionary tactic had the news gone the other way. Hell, even his closest advisor has now shifted away stating that the Clintons lie so much it's frightening. Media is controlled? you're right, try being a conservative and listening to CNN, ABC,NBC and CBS! Having been the one to make a lot of history in the latter half of the 20th century, you quickly begin to realize just how bogus the liberal media truly is. Rampant sexism... Hello, Title IX, another B.S. liberal excuse for communism.
Intellectual bullying? How is pointing out flawed "logic" bullying? I suppose you'd rather we not post our resources and shoot from the hip and go on emotion instead of cold, hard fact? Militarized police? Another lovely excuse to allow the criminally minded to over-run society. I strongly suspect you would rather have anarchy and disorder.
Elections stolen? Which one this time? Katherine Jennings in south Florida? The democrat lost fair and square. Why is it that when a deocrat wins, it's fair and square, but if they lose, they cry foul, throw their sucker in the dirt and go crying to mommy? Washington state's gubernatorial election is a classic example. The dem.s lost by a slight margin. They demanded a recount and still lost. So they demanded yet another and then another and after four recounts, finally won. And THEN had the audacity to tell the repub.s that they'd lost fair and square and to be good sports about it... Yep, stolen election... Might I suggest you try growing up and facing the real world? Do something productive with your life. Instead of sitting there typing out inuendo and suggestions of slander and lie, go to school, get a degree. Become a leader of men instead of a sheep. Take on a commision in the military, let them make a real man out of you. Try going in as an enlisted and then you will see just how "Glorified" you are in your military. But, in the mean time, a warm hearted "thank you" for the two points. And by the way, Lincoln was a republican. The dem.s hated him so much there were numerous atempts on his life. The dem.s didn't feel that freeing the slaves or keeping the union were important enough to go to war. Lincoln had to impose the Sedition Act just to keep troop strength up to fight the war of "northern aggression." But then, the dem.s are always right and pius. Right? Tell you what, you stay in Canada with the other bleeding hearts and don't worry about being used by those who would do you (and the rest of us harm). You just lay there flat on your back and when they're done with you, they might be nice and give you a kiss and leave a U.S. $20 on your U.S. made nightstand.

The Germans didn't know what was going on either History repeats itself - again and again - But because the symbols are different the Americans have no idea .

The German public claimed it was unaware of what really went on in the death camps just as the Americans really don't know whaty thier military is up to -

Many of them yet it is not a facist state. If it walks like, swims like, sounds like a duck is it truly a duck even if it lacks web feet beak and has hair. Your analogy is flawed.
