Can you read this? Only 55% of people can

I could not believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. The phenomenal power of the human mind , according to a research at Cambridge University , it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are , the only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without a problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself , but the word as a whole. Amazing huh? yeah and I thought spelling was important.

I Am One Of The 55% of people that can read it!! Whoooo!!

I couldn't believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. The pharanormal power of the human mind, according to research at Cambridge University. It doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without a problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole. Amazing huh? Yeah and I always thought spelling was important.

Well i also thought spelling was important, that was great, didn't know that. I have a terrible habit of spell checking all my mail, so i picked up an error on the word 'teh', so the theory of 1st and last letter is 99% effective, great.

AARGH. Spelling IS important! This demonstration shows that you can figure it out ... but it requires 30% MORE EFFORT and it is 30% SLOWER TO READ.

A consistent spelling allows you to recognize a word at a glance instead of having to "figure it out" every single f-ing word.

Bad spelling is just saying to the reader "I don't care if you have to work harder to understand me."

I can read it and fully understand it, so does that mean I am above average? It's not difficult. And I would think today more Americans could read it because of the way people spell on the computer with their shortcuts.

That is so weird, but you still have to know the correct letters to put in each word, so all those people that thought they didn't need to bother any more, bad luck!!! x
