I'd say a round rug just slightly bigger than your table and set it right underneath it. Of course, in a contrasting color. I think that would look pretty cool. It also depends on the type of look you're going for in your house. Contemporary, Zen etc.

I don't know your personal style, but I would get rid of the round table and get a rectangular table that matches the width of the couch with no rug underneath it.

I would use a rectagonal rug that would cover beneath the table and extend depending on how you have the sectional couch situated.

rectangle, either large enough so the sofa is all the way on it, or put the rug just slightly under the sofa. no half-on, half off. hope that makes sense! besides being comfy underfoot, rugs are also used to anchor or define a space.
