Dell Inspiron 9400. You can upgrade the graphics card to a GeForce 7900GS which is VERY nice for a notebook computer. Unfortunately, if you want a good graphics card for a notebook, it's got to be a big computer like 17" and up. Macs suck... My friend has one and I've used it a lot and am familiar with the hotkeys and all the perks of the mac OS, but Windows based PCs are so much more versatile than Macs. If you have the option, I'd stick with Windows XP now and upgrade to Vista later because from what I hear, Vista has a loooot of bugs and compatibility issues with both hardware and software. If you know for a fact that your things are Vista-compatible, then by all means, go for it.

Windows boxes are better for gamers. You want a high end video card, and probably a 17" monitor. I would stick with XP for now, many programs are broken in Vista. For more specifics, I have no recommendations, but I would look at other brands besides Dell.

I would get a Dell. Dell is thumbs up with environmental practices. Mac has been rated very poorly on their environmental practices. And games manufacturers always take longer to release a Mac version of their game.

First off, I wouldnt buy a Mac because it wont play most games, I wouldnt buy a Dell because its a piece of crap, and lastly, you will pay a fortune for ANY laptop that plays hi end games!
Sure it does pathfinder! As long as you buy the xp and the software that enables you to load it! What a joke! Then it sitll wont play hi end games!

if your games are pc then the mac is no good- they wont work- mac is unix/linux based

rather than dell I would opt for hp- better customer services

pathfinder----- macs use intel chips now. the mac os isn't windows- granted you can use emulators but i would not to run a game in one and if you are refering to a dual boot then surely that is also a feature of windows machines...

Me and my dad say Dell. Its great. You can hold all the songs and CDs you want on it. And it has great grafics. So get a Dell Inperation. Thats what we have.

I just got a MacBook Pro and I love love love it. My desktop at home is a PC and I'm going to replace it with a MAC. The great thing about Mac's is that you can also install Windows on it so you can choose to run Windows when you absolutely need to. Welcome to MAC
