Yes, it should be legal. Homosexuality has been around since the dawn of time and hetero- and homosexual relationships are just that- relationships. I'd feel a lot better about others' objections on moral or religious grounds if they simply were consistent about following their religion- like showing as much passion about making sure there was no divorce or that women didn't keep jobs outside the home. (Don't shoot me- I'm just the messenger. That's what the Bible teaches; I'm agnostic and think women deserve to belong in the workplace.) And if you're divorced and Christian, it's obvious where God's law ranks when it comes to applying it to your own moral issues.

NO! homosexuals are an abomination to God! It is clearly stated in the Bible in the book of 1Cor 6:9 that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. Marriage is for man and woman, not for 2 man and 2 woman. Let's base our life in the Bible, the word of God,,, not in the society and people's opinion!

Even, u'll rate me thumbs down, still, the truth is there! don't be blind by the society, know the truth! we must aim for eternal salvation, not earthly crap!

but, if you like it be legal, then go ahead and burn in hell!

Why should the government be involved in marraige at all? Marriage is a religious ceremony. The whole purpose of the government issuing marriage licenses is so they can discriminate. (like allowing the IRS to decide who you can claim as a dependant)

of course it should! the government has no business dictating who we love. if 2 unrelated, consenting adults love each other, and are in a committed, monogamous relationship, it shouldn't matter what their gender, race, religion or culture is. love is love! and a "civil union" is just separate, but not equal. I know plenty of gay/lesbian couples that have been together for years! straight couples are not any more likely to have longer relationships than we are. do you read "real" stats? do you know how many straight marriages end up in divorce? how many couples choose not to get married in the first place? how many more children are born out of wedlock? how much infidelity there is? before you claim how much gay marriage will harm the institution of marriage, take the real facts into consideration. how could us getting married affect you in the least?

Of course it should. However, marriage is a christian ideal, and I don't believe that marriage is a big deal. But I'm an atheist, so go fig. But if gays or lesbians want to get married, more power to them. They aren't bothering anyone, and for those who say it's a threat to the sanctity of marriage, I say take a look at the divorce rate. Heterosexual couples are a threat to the "sanctity" of marriage.

Absolutely, yes!! I am a heterosexual female. I think that Gay marriage should be a right not a privilege and that it is discriminatory to withhold the right to marry from them. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Two people loving each other, united in marriage and building a family could not possibly be harmful to anyone. I feel ashamed and embarrassed by the way so many people treat this issue. It puts me in mind of the rights of black people back in the sixties. I can remember(I grew up in George Wallace's Alabama) how horrible that was. I think we are doing the same thing to Gay people. I have never witnessed any gay person begrudging anyone else a happy life. I feel that they have the right to a happy life exactly as I do. I pray that others will relax and see this issue in a better light as it will never harm me for Gays to marry and is ridiculous for any to oppose it. Thanks for the question -k-

Who cares if homosexuals marry, except the homosexual? Would it change YOUR life?
Would it effect YOUR marriage?
Worry about IMPORTANT things. Things like WAR, GLOBAL WARMING, or where your next meal comes from if you should loose your job.
There are a great number of IMPORTANT issues to be concerned about.

Doesn't really matter what the law says. 'Marriage' is a union between a man and a woman for life. The government can call it marriage all they want, that doesn't make it true marriage. I don't care what anyone else says, it's the truth. Marriage is not, and never will be, the same thing between two of the same sex as it is between those of different sexes. Call it something else, but it is NOT marriage.

I really don't give a remote **** if you give me thumbs-down. I don't even really see the purpose of the thumbs-down option. Truth is not relevant, and you can deny it as much as you want, but it still remains the truth.

Yes. Religon should have no influence on law. One religon is no better than another and since some condone same sex marriage why should one religon be held in higher regard than another in the matters of what is legal and what isn't. It makes no sense.
