What is his sickness? If he has an STD you are out of your mind if you have sex with him! You are risking your life if you have sex with someone with an STD. Then if you have sex with anyone else you are risking their life, you have no right to play God with anyone else's life. So think about it before you have sex with him, if he has an STD he may be the last person you can ever have sex with.

With all sex, illness or not, he uses a condom and you get on hormonal birth control. If he performs oral sex on you, use a dam (sheet latex). If you perform oral on him, use a condom.
Frankly, I don't think you are NEARLY mature enough to have sex, based on your question and how you phrased it. Actually with your level of education concerning sex, I am actually terrified that you are going to atempt sex and then screw up your life.

it depends on what you mean. if he has a cold or something, i'd just wait until he's better. if you mean an STD, then you need to use a condom, in addition to maybe the pill for the sake of preventing pregnancy. but a condom is a must for preventing STD's.
