It also states you can't teach an old dog new tricks and although you can lead a horse to water you can't make it drink. So although they let sleeping dogs lie, you can still give a dog a bad name and hang it, so they don't always get it their own way.

I think you will find it is ok for most sleeping things to lye. Perhaps at the exclusion of horses. I find if you try and make a sleeping dog stand it kinda falls anyway and sometimes bites you, but hey, it's a dog!

Well, if sleeping dogs are left to lie, then it stands to reason that awake dogs are right to be honest.

I don't know, but dogs are alot more clever than we are it seems. They just play dumb and get to lounge around all day while we go out and bust our butts, bring home the bacon, and shelter and feed them. Why didn't we think of it first...dang it!
