Romannticism was a feeling where nature was there to be seen in its power and not tried to be controlled. The wild of Nature was what is at the heart of the paintings of the era. with wild skies and man dwarfed by nature. for examples of this look at hannibal crossing the alps by turner. in it you will see the sky covers the majority of the painting.
