Getting the blue screen of death when I start up windows, the machine is a DELL INSPIRON 5150, not sure what the problem may be and the specific error message seems to be not on the internet so i cannot find information about it.

Since i couldnt figure out how to reply im starting a new thread, remember that this computer is a laptop the information that was posted was helpful. However i took the entire laptop apart and it has no ribbon cable, the harddrive is connected directly to the motherboard. I cannot access windows to change any settings, but i know that i have not lost anything. Should i replace the harddrive or is the component on the motherboard itself shot ?
