There are these websites online where you can find out about free auditions for things like movies and stuff. Are they fake?

There are some that are real. Rule of thumb is don't pay a lot for access. No more than ten or fifteen a month. Be careful, there are a lot of scammers out there. You will not get to hear about auditions for major motion pictures or T.V. shows on these sites. It'll be mostly independant productions that don't pay anything or very little. Don't let that stop you. Act because you want to and not to make money. Good luck and have fun.

One site totally valid is by linking to Playbill.com.

LOCAL auditions should be personally checked out in any case.

AUDITIONS are always FREE, legitimate or not. The major issue might be some "AGENCY" trying to "sign" you up, promising you the Moon, Stars, Fame, Fortune.

As Global as this technology and medium are,,, the WWW is as much a Curse, as it can be a Blessing.
