I have a friend who is looking to relocate. He's young, white, conservative, religious, and he's married with two kids. He's well-educated, somewhat affluent, and he's very much into sports--professional and outdoorsy stuff. He's looking for a city and state that is big on church and family but has plenty of stuff to do outdoors. He doesn't mind the cold or the heat. Do you have any suggestions which states would be the best fit?

I recommended

1.) Colorado (outdoorsy, lots of evangelicals, very conservative)
2.) Texas (conservative, church-going, inexpensive)
3.) Georgia (southern values, great economy)

Do you have any ideas?

I'd go with Georgia, it has southern values like it said, and the weather has both extremes: hot and cold, so it's the happy medium between hot Texas and cold Colorado.

How about St. Louis, MO? I've never lived there but have visited several times. It had sort of a hometown feel, but still with lots of different things to do.

Colorado Springs would work for him. Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins are all more liberal than he might like.
