Demure, Submissive, Conservative, Obedient towards Authority and Parents, homemaker and well-mannered, especially in etiquette.

The aforementioned was for the newly-formed middle class right up to the Upper class. The Lower Class and other races were despised and were purported to have brazen and unkempt manners, though some were of course the opposite.

These standards were dictated by most societies and firmly established cultures at that point of time.
