Very simple

Right hand click the task bar
Go to tool bars
Ensure Quick launch is activated
A series of shortcut icons will be present to the left hand sife of the tool bar.

Find MS Word in the All Programs Menu
Right hand click the start icon
Click create shortcut

You can then drag the new shortcut to the task bar using the quick launch menu. Click, hold and drag the new shortcut into the quick launch in the taskbar, a black location line will appear.

And you are done.

When you go to all programs right side click on the mouse on Microsoft Word and a drop down box will appear, click on pin to start menu. That way you click on start and it will be right there.

open your program list, right click on the icon, create shortcut, you will now see an extra icon. Click and hold your mouse on it and drag it to either the desktop or task bar
