Hi fundybay_gal

I've been pondering this very same question.

Here are a few pros and cons:

Pros:
Healing is a noble profession. And you'll be doing something you love.

More and more people are using alternative health, herbs, supplements and diet to heal themselves. Awareness is growing.

Cons:
Adequate training may be more expensive than you can afford at the moment. At least one very good program was $2500/year for two years.

The more popular alternative healing becomes, the more it comes under attack by the pharmaceutical industry, medical industry, insurance industry and FDA. These are extremely powerful entities.

Below are some links. The salary info I found was from the UK but it might give you an idea.

Best of luck!

My husband and were talking about this the other night. I told him that I should take classes to become a naturopath or herbalist because that is the direction that so many people are taking these days. You see more and more organic food in the store everytime you go. People are starting to see that this is the way to live and eat. Go for it.

Everything you feel really interested in can be a good career choice. Make yourself a business plan and play out how your life would be if you would choose this path, and see where you are going with it :)

Yes.
It will be highly in demand soon in the future once the mainstream Food industry has diseased everyone.
Many will be coming to you for relief and to heal what the FDA has done to them.
Good Luck!
