My Anti-Virus was free with NTL Broadband. My Spyware is: AVG Anti-Spyware: Spybot-S&D:Spyware Terminator, and Ad Aware SE personal. I get informed of spyware daily, but precautions keep PC as safe as possible.
Been informed once of Virus,NTL Netguard zapped it

1.) I use Linux

2.) It protects me fully from adware and spyware and has done for years

3.) Thankfully, Linux has never been infected with spyware.

When limited to insecure, badly designed operating systems (such as Microsoft Windows), I use SUPERAntispyware.

The most useless I have found is Windows Defender and the Windows "Live" system. Even Microsoft themselves finally admitted this should never have been released,

1. Lavasoft Ad-aware, Search and Destroy Spybot both free for home use. www.spywareguide.com for quick scans. Hijackthis.
2. I have never found on application to be the end all.
3. I support 20,000 end users that have full access to the internet and about 19,000 of them are full administrartors on their machines. So yes, I get plenty of work each week to clean this junk off. I have some tricks that I use to get the worst of the worst off but in most cases it only works because I'm a domain admin.

On home machines, its more of a pain because of a lack of a network. Usually that's the case for family and friends so I'm stuck with putting the machines on my network at home to clean the crap off.

Windows Defender by Microsoft. I guess because I can trust them. There are so many other anti-spyware but I dont' know if I can trust them. They seem to just create more problems for me.
