use slope formula, first

y1-y2/x1-x2

40-19/5- (-2) = 3 = slope

y = mx + b

plug in

40 = 5(3) + b
40 = 15 + b
25 = b

y = 3x + 25

first put it in point slope which is y- y1=m(x-x1) so that is
point slope : y-40=3(x-5)
so in slope intercept which is y=mx+b that becomes y=3x-15+40
slope intercept : y=3x+25
so in standard form which is ax +by= c, so its -3x+y=25
standard: 3x-y=-25

use the two point formula
(y-y1)/(y2-y1)=(x-x1)/(x2-x1)
here x1=5,y1=40,x2=-2 and y2=19
substituting
(y-40)/(19-40)=(x-5)/(-2-5)
=>(y-40)/-21=(x-5)/-7
=>-7(y-40)=-21(x-5)
dividing by -7
y-40=3(x-5)
removing the brackets
y-40=3x-15
adding 40
y=3x+25
