It seems to.

I don't think there's any "proof" of it, but the more people watch TV, the more they seem to be that way.

Talking for HOURS on cellphones and driving, ALSO seems to kill brain cells and definitely causes accidents.

Virtually everything kills your brain cells. But don't worry, you have 97% of them just sitting there, not even being used.
But seriously, even thinking kills your brain cells... So yes, watching TV would kill brain cells.

It doesn't kill your brain cells but im sure it can fill your brain with garbage depending on what your watching. The history channel is educational and pretty interesting to watch that teaches you things that are good to learn. Things like soap opras and jerry springer arn't very good seriously why would you want to know about peoples problems.

doggypann has a very good answer. Too much of anything is bad for you . I really do believe that too much Yahoo! Answers is killing off a lot of my brain cells and so I've become a zombie with no hope of full recovery. I must stop now. I must stop now....

Not literally.

But, since it's passive, rather than active, and usually the content is mind candy, you aren't making new connections in your brain (which you do when you learn).

Ultimately, your brain is a "use it or lose it" deal, as those who keep learning and engaging in intellectually challenging things, are less likely to lose brain function when they get old.

But "TV rots your brain" and such are just expressions.

But watching intellectually challenging things is another story.

No. I have read that the only time you lose braincells is if you hit your head really hard on something. Ex. faint on a cement sidewalk. P.S. Brain cells can't grow back.

anything that is too much can kill you. too much love, too much food, too much water, too much junk food, too much sex, etc.
It can possibly kills your brain cells (and your optic cells) when you watch TV very often (like 25 hours a day).
