I would see this question today. My son has to have his circumcision tomorrow and a hypospadius correction and I am worried sick because of the anesthesia.

When he was 5 weeks old he had two hernias (right and left) and it seemed that they both looked fine after the operation. He was swollen all over though after the operation but it was balanced if that makes sense. A few days afterwards they appeared normal except for the little incisions and the glue stitches they used. He was in the NICU though so I had nurses around 24/7. He is 9 months old now and hasn't had any problems. We had to wait on the circumcision because of the hypospadius and the fact that he was born at 31 weeks. They didn't want to even correct it until he was 9 months.

If it were me I would be talking to his urologist tomorrow when the office is open. It is better to have peace of mind than not ask the doctor any question. I ask tons of questions. I hope everything is ok for your little guy.

Congrats. My son also had hernia surgery at 9 weeks old...pretty scary huh? Just keep an eye on the right side for a couple of week for anything unusual in his diaper area. My son has not has any issues with the opposite side and he is 3 1/2 now.

It is absolutely normal for a babies testes to not look symettrical. Especially after this type of surgery. Give it a few years and as his testes descend they should even out. If he had trauma to one though, it may be smaller, always because it is not producing sperm. Ask his pediatrician to make sure, when he's older that he has normal sperm count. It will make it harder to hav ea child himself if one has been injured. Sounds like though he's going to be ok, this is more common than parents know about. My 10 year old son looked lopsided until 2 yrs ago.

sounds normal to me. Most guys have one that hangs a little lower than the other...nothing to worry about. Glad to hear that everything went well with the surgery. Good luck!

this is something that the surgeon or any attending staff should be able to tell you but you must remember that there is recovery time in any procedure involving swelling and adjustments

thanks be to God that the procedures went well!

wow. i didn't think circumcisions were still performed. my 6 1/2 year old grandson didn't have one because the insurance wouldn't pay for it. talk with your doctor. they can reassure you. :)
