The dumb or ditzy blonde has been a stereo type for ages, particularly in hollywood. Don't sweat it - it makes people underestimate you which gives you an advantage.

blondes just got caught up in that game people play--you know the one where the stupid looking one is automatiically the MORON or RETARD, the handicapped one is the CRIPPLE, or the foreiners that have unsavory names that I will not mention here. I do not think it very nice, but, not all people think the way I do. I take stupid for stupid, it is a behaviour, not a look, and does not deserve a derogatory title. Be proud of your blonde hair and intelligent mind. Defy the stereotype.
Or you could just go along with the game and have LOADS of fun at someone elses expense--ya know the ones who call YOU dumb? Turn the tables so to speak.

its a stereotype.....people see how celebs like jessica simpson an paris hilton act so they belive all blonds are like them dont let it bother you your beautiful girl!! your smart and you can be whatever you want to be!!! dont let that get you down....if blonds like them are soooo dumb,why are the MILLIONAIRES???? those people who tell you your dumb ans stupid will be the same ones that you look back on and see later in life and they'll wish they were a "dumb blonde" and as successful as you!

No idea. I think it started as a joke and then grew from there. I'm sure there's no truth to it.
By the way, I wouldn't put too much stock in grades as a measurement of intelligence. I've known people who have gotten straight A's in high school, but had no common sense. I've also known people who had to drop out, even though they were as smart as they come because their grades weren't good enough (they eventually got their GED's, but it wasn't easy for them).

I think they see that blondes are beautiful and always you now typically would win a beauty contest and they use only looks to do that. So people call them stupid because they think they have no brains and they want an excuse on why they always win

its just a stereotype. i think its just because brunettes want to have something over blondes so they say that they are stupid. That way we look smarter i guess? Dumb reason i know, but its probably true.

well, surely more than one reason, and surely not all ppl. stereotyping is not briefly described accurately. hair color has nothing to do with intelligence or wisdom. assuming things and/or following stereotypes is easy to do as a human. let ppl that tell you you are this or that think as they wish and dont worry about proving anything to anyone. you know yourself best, so go with oyur own opinion if it isnt influenced by others.

Jk I understand you I am not a legally blonde but I have had my "blonde moments" here and there and I think that the ones who started this were the Hollywood movie producers...I am burnette now...But Blonde hair does look nice on me because of m skin color...
