They need to just let the players play. Too many weak calls this year.

The NCAA officiating committee selects only their best ref's for the Tournament. Therefore they catch everything instead of letting some violations slip by. I think this is being mistaken for them being to tight with their calls.

I haven't actually seen too many bad calls this year in the NCAA's. Usually the cals the refs are making are right on, just because a mugging didn't happen doesn't necessarily mean a fould didn't happen. Seems like the refs are letting the style of play affect their foul calling somewhat. If both teams are playing hard nosed defense the refs are being consitent on the whistles but letting some physical play happen. If the teams are establishing that they are going to play cupcake defense, then when it is clear there was some contact there is going to be a foul called. It could be worse it could be like NBA phantom calls in favor of its top superstars when no contact is even close. Breath on em and you fouled em, especially if you are going to put them to the game to tie or potentially go for the win late.
