Because dancers have very little body fat. It's the same thing with runners or gymnasts. They are very lean. I'm a distance runner, and I have the same issue. It sucks, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, all the answers so far are wrong. I'm a 19 year old dancer who had to have a breast reduction at 16 because of my 33DD breasts. (Yes, ladies, that's in between a bra size. I was lucky to find 34DDs to buy.) I have an extremely trim frame, otherwise, and my breasts were examined with ultrasound to check if any of the mass was fat, but it was all breast tissue.
The reason why dancers usually have smaller breasts is simply because it HURTS to dance with bouncing breasts. Also, because it isn't attractive to see bouncing breasts on stage, dancers with bigger breasts are screened out at auditions. So it's not as though they don't exist; they just don't make it in the dance biz.
So everyone who claimed that the reason has to do with body fat are wrong. I've been dancing since I was 3 and I was always all muscle everywhere else.

Because usually dancers are small and have a high metabolism. Plus they work all muscles including the chest. Besides not all dancers have small breasts. I'm a dancer and a size D, thank you very much.

I miss the dancers with the black eyes. Where are they? Hmm if the breasts are small they make up for it in other ways. If the dancers had 44DD's then men would be interested in ballet. Most of the time the chest is so flat they look like a guy in a tutu. So to all you choreographers out there hire a large busted dancer...we will thank you for it in advance.

OMG! U dont know?
not all dancers boobies are small first of all the famous ballerinas you see were "chosen" mostly because of body type. there are many good dancers with boobs out there.
its all about genetics! some have bigger calves some have
bubble butts but the boobs in ballet are harder to hide. most tape them down before a performance. they have little body fat yes but all dancers are different.... the companies JUST started to allow different shapes be apparant in this century! before everyone had to be a similar type.
THATS your answer!

Because dancers tend to be smaller generally than non-dancers.
They are also extremely fit and have less body fat than non-dancers.

Breasts are mostly fat... dancers have little to no fat generally....
Also certain dancers, like ballerinas are actually selected on body type....the corps de ballet are traditionally preferred to look all the same - interchangeable almost.......

Dancers have less body fat than others. You shouldn't get all bumbed if it's you, they just get all in the way if they are big. You need room to move your arms and they are just in the way when you do turns!

Because they have less body fat, and thus less of a chest. Typically, smaller girls have smaller chests, and since dancers are normally so fit, they follow that same mold.
