I have this friend whom i get on really well with, we can chat for hours. I've known her for 2 yrs and met her thru my cousin who she was seein. They have just split and spoke 2 my cousin today and he said she just used him, everytime 1 of her friends split with their fella she always split with him. Anyway, lately everytime i ask her to do somethin like go shoppin, clubbin she says she cant afford. But this wkend i found out tht she was going out with her other friend. When i asked her about it she lied and said she was stayin in lookin after her son, then i found out her son was stayin at his dads. I dnt know whether to jus not bother wi her anymore coz i dnt want to be un loyal to my cousin by satyin friends wi her but she always lets me down. What do i do?

I like to believe that she has her own program all sorted out so give her some personal space. She may have her reasons, so its good to respect her. Getting on well is not tentamount to her liking you.

Have an honest conversation with this friend and ask her if there is a problem between the two of you because her behavior has been confusing to you lately. If, for some reason, she has decided that she no longer wants you as a friend let her know you would appreciate it if she would just say so. Making up excuses to avoid being with you is very childish and it is totally unnecessary because you don't want to force yourself on anyone who is not truly interested in remaining your friend.

I think she feels uncomfortable around you because she is no longer with your cousin. While she can talk to her other friend about what a so and so your cousin was...she wouldn't be able to tell you in the same way. If you want to...Just say 'hi' each time you see her; she may come to realise that she can still be friends with you; regardless.

Dont contact her, she doesnt sound like a very loyal person.

When I started reading it I thought that she must be really young (14) if she was dumping her boyfriend just because one her friends was single but then I realised that she had a son, so she must be really immature for her age.

You are better off without her. Good luck

you need to catch her out.

we did this to our mate katie, she used to say she was coming out then let us down an hour before we was due to go out. we caught her in a pub with her ex.

the next week she did the same, saying she would meet us in a pub and she would be coming by taxi. she wouldnt answer her phone when we rang to see why she was late.

her dad was a policeman and we told him we were really worried coz she hadnt turned up and wasnt answering the phone.
he got worried and went straight home to find katie and her ex naked on the settee.

she has never stood us up since.

Well she just keeps lying to you for no obvious reason so I think you shouldnt bother with her anymore. Find better friends.

lick your wounds and move on - you deserve a better "friend" than that ..... if cannot be honest with you in the small things you can forget the others!
