as a canadian and a fan of cricket.. i think it is awsome to see canada getting knocked around and losing at will..
i respect the game and if a country like canada doesnt respect the game they shouldnt be participating in this WC tourney..
this canadian team is a joke.. oldest team in the WC and not a single "real" canadian in their side.. unless canada's new name is " Indo/Carib/Pak - Canada"
Only Kenya, Ireland , Holland and Scotland shouldve been included.. Bermude and Canada are a joke!
Hope they get Thrashed by the Kiwis in their next game... which they will :D

lulu, its not about the experience, its the people and the media, and how they treat this game and how they cover this game in this part of the world.
Canadians are Americans believe me.. there is no difference at all between the two.

What a weird attitude. Thats just ignorant.
Canada qualified for the WC and have every right to be there. So what if they are the oldest team there? Someone has to be. And most teams, including England, have players who were not actually born in the country, so saying they are not "real" Canadians is both misinformed and bigoted.
Check the scorecard of the game against England..do you really call that being "knocked around and losing at will"? Any true cricket fan would accept that they put up a pretty decent display and pushed England as far as they could.

have to agree with an above comment, what a "weird" attitude.
However I can see where you are coming from, you obviously feel the development of young canadian players is hampered by an influx of so-called "foreigners". I Actually don't know much about the composition of the canadian cricket team but if what you say is true and there is not on single" real" canadian on the cricket team then this is an unfortunate situation. Having a number of non natives from established cricketing who have real pride in wearing the national teams colours can only be benifical to the groth of the game, however if the team is entirely comprised of non natives does it reallly give an incentive to young canadians to play the game. The other way of looking at this is: if they are the best players then they deserve to play.
Also remember lots of other countries use players, born in other counries, Englands Ed Joyce is an irishman and in fact played for us as recently as last year. Our Irish team also contains some foreigners, while there is great pride in the fact that "only" four of the team are not natives of Ireland, I am still 100% proud of the four boys who have joined us and represent us brilliantly

i dont think u r a real canadian either
y dont u goto where u came from and support that team cuz canadian cricket team will remain same till people their start to take interest in the sports
if candians dont take interest in cricket then how come whats the fault of the present canadian team which is filled by like u said indo/pak/carrib
if u have so much problem not seeing real white canadians in the team y dont u go and start motivate the real canadian to take part in cricket
do u know Except England,India, kenya, sri lanka has the real native people in their teams and rest teams dont have real native men Australia,NZ,South Africa teams are filled with Europeans..y dont u question them about not including the native Aborignal Australian or Maori Kiwis in their teams or y isnt entire south African team aint black
I m an white englishman and if i were a canadian i would take pride in saying our country is participating the cricket world cup regardless of who is representing us
you're such a bigot

No one had expected Canada can win against England. Hence their defeat was expected. However, they could score 228 runs for the loss of 7 wickets against England, which I consider is a better performance than India did against Bangladesh and Pakistan did against Ireland. Unless opportunities to play against strong teams are given how can weaker teams can get the experience of playing under pressure. Hence, I do not find anything wrong in including them in the world cup.

Tino67 !! i have a suggestion for you !! if you are a real canadian and fan of cricket.......why don't you try yourself for your team? You always seem to enjoy the defeats of the teams whether its Pakistan(especialy), india or any other team ...give it a try and see whether you can bring some glory to your country or to cricket somehow? becuase you know its realy easy to point out the weekness but difficult to correct it ! Atleast be supportive to your own team..they did well , much better than pakistan and India did agaisnt Ireland and Bangladesh !
