Either would be, they both have their own charm and benefits. I would not recommend seattle specifically unless you really want to live in a city, but one of the small towns or rural areas in WA. But Seattle has so much to offer for the outdoors enthusiast. I am partial to the Pacific Northwest though.

One major difference between the two is winters ... cool and rainy in seattle, cold and snowy in vermont. However, Seattle is an hour or less from several ski areas.

Just my opinion, as I have never visited either, but it seems like Seattle. A lot of outdoorsy stuff there, mountains, ocean, etc and a lively night life.
