When filling out forms, questions often ask for race (White, Black [of hispanic origin, not of hispanic origin], Asian/pacific islander, or Native American. There is never a place for mixed
people.
haf black/white people usually just consider blacks
but the half asian/white people I met considered themselves"Eurasian"
not just asian, because they look half and half, and the full blood asian people think their white, white people think their asian.
and halflatino/white people usually look very white, some even have blone hair and blue eyes.
Do you think government need to add a place for mixed people like( ''bi-racial''______and_____)filling in the box.
some mixed people would filled in "other" but I don't think most people would like to be called "other".
more and more babies are mixed nowadays

The Government should have a "multi-racial" or "mixed race" category. What if some who is 1/2 Black and 1/2 White has a baby with someone who is 1/2 Asian and 1/s White? Checking "biracial" wouldn't really be fitting for the baby (unless the "bi" in biracial has been nullified and biracial is now simply a synonym for multi-racial).

the question of race shouldnt even be on forms... its completely unneeded usually... but i agree with you that if the question is on the form then there should be a place for mixed races. there is usually a place for "prefer not to answer" or the question is marked "optional"... i either mark the "prefer not to answer" or leave it blank... its none of their business and i dont think my race should matter.

You do not have to fill those blanks in. The are always optional.

"They" say they won't hold it against you but I can't tell you how many times some sort of notation was made after you left.

It matters but its illegal for it to. You know: affirmative action.

They shouldn't have that crap on the forms in the first place. If we truly are a color blind society, why have that on almost every form?
