Hi. Please help me out here! Anyways, I was recently admitted to the University of Puget Sound and I have a strong incentive to go there but I know nothing about the weather there and only hear bad things, though I live in California and nothing really compares to that so it is biased anyways :)
If you could please help me out, that would be greatly appreciated!

The weather is mild year round. You will find the winters colder than you're used to being from CA and the summers not as warm.

Normal winter temps are in the upper 30s to low 40s during the day, with night temps dipping down into the lower 30s or upper 20s. Most mornings you'll have to scrape frost off your car if you get up before things start to warm up.

Summer temps range from the upper 70s to mid 80s, with most warmer days sometimes reaching the upper 80s or 90s in late July and August. Nights are mild at mid to upper 50's to low 60s.

Contrary to popular belief, it does not rain all the time, however, it is overcast quite often. In the winter you can go days without the sun really shining. It's often cloudy or overcast in the morining in the summer with the coulds burning off by late morning. People think it rains all the time because most of the percipiation comes in the form of a heavy mist or light shower. We do have some heavy rains, but not like you see in the mid west or back east.

UPS is in Tacoma, the second largest city in Washington. It's not far from the mall and other shopping. There are bars and resturants nearby, and downtown isn't far. Tacoma is only about 45-60 minutes from Seattle.

I was born and raised in Tacoma and currently live 40 minutes away. I've traveled to other parts of the country, and although I like the weather in CA and the scenery in HI, I still think WA is the best place to live.

If the University of Puget Sound is located in the City of Tacoma,
you should be warned that Tacoma is a misery of a City.
The infrastructure and amenities of the City will get you down long before the weather ever will.
Since you are a resident of California, can't you get a better
financial deal from a University in California - there are so many good ones there.

My aunt and cousin live there, and I have only visited, so this might not be too helpful: I know it does rain an aweful lot there, and it is overcast a lot. This makes everything so green and beautiful on the sunny days. There is a lot going on up there rain-or-shine, but everyone takes advantage of beautiful weather. My cousin said it was depressing at first to have so many overcast and rainy days in a row, but he got used to it.
