It says in the info. packet with your CD that you can go to other yards and other places by just walking across that street, but mine doesnt do that, when you wallk across its just like air, no building where I know there is really one...
Is there something I need to download?

You need the patch though to be able to see other lots from the lot you are in. patches are available through the official site.

In the options make sure neighbors and clickable neighbors are enabled.
On the control panel, click on the button that has 3 dots.
You should then get another set of options. Click on the button that has 2 gears. There you have your lot view options.

No. If you are able to see any community lots from your home or another lot, you left click on that certain building and you are able to go there without going to the neighborhood.
