The red light showes that you have power to the motherboard.
Thants good. If you get no picture it might be the video card. If yyou know someone who has one you might try their's. First thing I would do is check to make sure that your video card is seated good on the mother board.
Hope this helps.

Check to make sure the screen cable hasn't come out and the screen is plugged in. Does the computer beep on startup it should beep once if its doing it more that once in quick sucsession your in trouble. Usually if its beeping multiple times quickly its because its unable to connect to something. Seeing as the screens blank its most likely to be the screen or graphics card. Try plugging a different screen into it if a different screen doesn't work try switching the graphics card. The easiest thing is to take it to a computer shop who have spare parts to test it out for you.

Unplug it from the power outlet and wait a few moments.

Plug it back in and turn it on.

Sometimes a power outage or power surge will cause a problem. You should have all your computer equipment plugged into a power surge protector that goes between the computer equipment and the power (wall) outlet.

My guess would be that either the harddrive, ram or motherboard has failed (in that order) the best way to check these componants is to swap them with a working machine
