Started April 22, 1971. As a day to remind people that it's time to recycle and save our future by doing something today. Like all other ideas it gets lost in translation and time. It wasn't a hippy thing.

It's April 22nd every year. It was started by the Hippie movement of the early 1970's...around 1971-72, to encourage people to respect the Earth and try to make it a cleaner place.

Earth day is april 22nd but some people say that earth day was cancled because of global warming but i don't believe that. do you?
