I have a small front garden with shade early morning and full sun mid morning to evening. The soil here is dry and not very fertile. We also have very strong winds a lot. I am looking for something that requires little care and looks nice. I dont want anything that will get too big/tall. I would like something with a lot of color. Be it flowers or the leaves themselves. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Call your county Extension Service. They usually have local volunteer Master Gardeners who can offer specific advice for your location. They have lots of local experience and love to share it.

try hgtv.com. They have all the top gardening shows on that site. Also, Paul James the gardener guy from gardening by the yard is from ok. Master gardener who tapes from his yard. He has alot of tips for ok. gardeners, on videos & in articles. I'm sure you can find all the info you need there.
