Chocolate pudding? Butterscotch??
NO PUDDING, PERIOD!!!
Anything high in sugar and/or carbohydrates is a no-no. Besides, dairy products are hard on their digestive tract and can give them diarrhea which can lead to dehydration.
No candy, no fruit and no raw vegetables. Ferrets lack a part of the small intestines needed to digest fiber properly, so fruits and raw vegetables can not be digested right and can even lead to bowel obstruction.
I give mine a fourth of a raisin when they did their work during training or half of a Yogie treat. Other than that I stick with commercially available treats. Ferrets do not really need treats. Humans feel the need to give them treats for different reasons, but other than a training tool they are not necessary.
Oh, I also use FerreTone and FerretLax as "treats" when it comes to bedtime. I use a squeaker to make them all come out of hiding and everyone gets a few licks of the Tone or the Lax. The ferrets don't know it's good for them, they like it and I get them all rounded up. Everyone wins.
