yup. that place was so good for so many people for so long, but it was literally falling apart. just wish they could decide on what to do with it

As much as I loved that park as a kid, when I went to a game in its final season, it was clearly past its time. Other teams have moved out sooner than needed, in my opinion. I am no contractor, but I doubt that it could be refurbished, like Yankee Stadium was in the 70's.

Yes. As much as I miss Tiger Stadium, it was falling apart. The structure was just plain getting old.
What I would have done differently though, would to insure the new park was built the way it was "supposed" to be.

Yes, but I would have moved to the suburbs instead of building another stadium downtown where crime is high and freeway construction always seems to be ongoing. Oakland or Macomb Counties would have been my first choices. Washtenaw County or down river would have been my second choices.

Would have been stupid not to. There is a ton of new revinue to be made from a new stadium.
