taking into consideration the whole extent of the universe down to the smallest particle known , is it possible to position ourselves in the scale of things ? Like for instance halfway between the largest and the smallest thing . (Just as a matter of interest)

Yes, I believe it's possible. I'm not sure but I'd say we're somewhere in the middle of the scale. I think quantum physics would provide the answer. Maybe you can find some help at the links below. The first has an email and accepts questions like this. He might have a better answer for you.

I think this was discussed in Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time". If you ponder such questions it is a book you would enjoy. Unfortunatly I can't remember whrere we sit on the scale of things but I don't think we are near the middle.

I think we would be down towards the small end when you think of all the stars and asteroids out there. There are plenty of smaller things from grains of sand to single atoms. If bigger means it contains more atoms Then i would say we are towards the small end.
