Communities interact with each other on local levels, yet the mainstream media make a fuss out of differences. Are these differences real or imagined. If people can live in harmony in a local (mircocosm) level, why cant they live in harmony on a global (macrocosm) level?

I suppose it's easier & simpler to get a small number of people to be in agreement than huge nations with many more varied beliefs & thinkings.

i've no idea, but the americans tend to do the whole east/west thing, esp. in hiphop. you see these rappers like defending their "coast" and everyone's like "what...?" i think it's just social differences, like politics and lifestyles, etc.
