Hey ladies! I am almost 17weeks into my pregnancy and I am a little worried, I dont know if I feel this way since this is my first baby. Last week I was feeling some little poking around my belly button area sort of like eye twitches (but on my lower belly) and I was told that It was the baby moving, but now Im not feeling those twitches and little finger poking anymore, Im worried that something is wrong with the baby. Am I supposed to feel them all the time? When am i really suppsed to feel my baby move? Thank yo for your answers God Bless!!

babies begin to move around 15 weeks and continue to move for the rest of the gestation time, but it's not going to be constant. if you think something's wrong, definitely go to the doctor and have an ultrasound to see if he's just sleeping in there.

I am also almost 17 weeks pg ( due on 28/8/07) and it's my 4th baby.
You can feel baby's anytime between 16 and 22 weeks, as it's your first I'd be suprised if you could feel it this early and it'd be so faint you may not realise your feeling it and also it'll be irregular. They are so tiny at this stage and in such a big space that they can hide for days!! Give it another week or 2 and you'll feel it a bit better and probably more regular. Don't worry too much unless you get to 22 weeks and don't feel anything more than you do now. Hard I know as a first time mum but honestly the more you sit and wait for the flutters the more it'll be wind!
Good Luck xxxx

You baby is not very big right now, only about 6in long ang weighing 4-5oz. Being this size you will not feel the baby all the time. They have a lot of room to float around in your uterus. I'm suprised you felt the baby move this soon! Your baby will grow very fast this month and so by the end of month four on into month five you will definitly feel your baby moving around a lot more and it will be more consistent. If something were wrong, your body would be telling you in many ways! Try not to worry too much. God Bless!!

Congrats on the pregnancy! I had my first last year and went through the same thing. I went to the emergency room about five times and it was always me just overreacting. My daughter would move so often and then she'd just stop. It turns out that she had just switched positions and although she was moving, I just couldn't feel it. Babies also have their on and off days. Somedays they feel active, others not so much. It's probably nothing, especially since at first they don't move that much. Soon, though, you won't be able to keep that baby still, but even then your baby may have a couple still days. Don't hesitate to go in though because you know your baby's movements best. It's better to be safe, but good luck and I'm almost positive your sweetie is fine.

Well at 17 weeks the baby isnt all that big still. He or she has a lot of room to move around in so you might not be able to feel all the movement. If you get to worried though call your doctor. Or go to an er for some closure so that you will know everything is ok.

You occasionally start to feel movement at that stage. It is more on and off then because the baby has more room to move inside you. But as the baby grows and there is less room you feel more and more.

I think it is a little later on when you are feeling definite movements. Sometimes you're busy and miss movement because you aren't concentrating on it. That is when you lie down and see if you can feel bub moving.

If you are really worried go see your dr for reassurance. You wouldn't be first or last woman to do this.

Best of luck!!

The movements you felt were probably just gas or cramping- you don't typically feel your baby move till 20-25 weeks, you will definetly know, because once it starts, it just may not stop!!! You have nothing to worry about unless your doctor is worried. The less you stress, the healthier your baby will be. Just remember every little ounce of stress you are feeling, the baby is also feeling, so relax, your DR will advise you when to worry!!!!

I am sure that it is fine, the baby most likely just changed positions. As long as you don't have any bleeding or you have lost the pregnancy symptoms you are fine. If you get really concerned call your doctor and have him check you out to ease your mind. Good luck with your baby.

You're really early in the "moving" time. You don't move constantly or always in the same direction, and neither does your baby. If you're worried, have the doctor check the heart beat. I'm sure it's fine.
