well I would suggest you wash them in cold water , using the good old fashioned soap bar for washing clothes, Soak the trainer´s first in cold water rub in the soap leave free from the water for 1/2 hr or so then wash in warm water ,rinse with cold . You can remove the inner sole before you wash them ,they are easy to replace or simply buy new one´s Also to get your trainer´s dry in extra quick time here is a great trick that works. So your shoes are washed and most of the water has dripped out ,now fill the inner sole of the shoes with normal rice just enough to cover the bottom of the inner sole. Then add as many clean clothes or rags as you can , leave like this over night in a warm place & you will be surprised to find them dry the next day. If you think this is only a joke try first with an old pair of trainer´s or shoes

I use a kitchen sponge with a soft scourer on the back. You know the ones I mean? They come in packs of 5 or 10, very cheap. Dip in hot water and squirt a little washing up liquid on the sponge and rub. Any difficult marks, use the scourer side. Generally, I keep my trainees clean with a baby-wipe

If they're leather or vinyl, just use a Mr. Clean magic eraser on them. I keep my white Phat Farm sneakers looking new all the time using that. Don't have to get the shoes wet either. Very quick & easy. Cheap too.

Pour some Dawn dish soap on a clean damp rag to clean them. Take another clean cloth & wipe them off with plain water. It works great on the shoelaces as well. Add Dawn to the laces while in your hands, rub a little bit, & put them to soak in the sink, overnight, or until clean. Rinse well & allow to dry. I have always used Dawn on my white sneakers & it works really well.

You can use comet and a soft cloth with warm water. Or you can use baking soda and a soft cloth with warm water. If they still look a bit dingy, do what all good nurses do to their white nursing shoes: get yourself some white shoe polish and use this on your trainers and they'll be white like new. None of this will harm your shoes.

I put mine in the washer. I then let them dry on top of the dryer, or outside. I stuff with tissue paper to get them to keep their form.

you could try spraying them with a waterproofing spray when new but as that is not the case have you thought of taking them to the dry cleaners.
