Once you finish the first full cycle of pills (first full pack), you should be good to go.

When you first start on birth control, the first cycle/month/28 days is how long it can take to be effective. That's the amount of time your body needs to adjust to the synthetic hormones and understand the signal not to ovulate. By the start of the second pack of pills (the white ones in your case), your body is used to the hormones, and knows not to release an ovum. Once you start the white pills, your in the clear. Just don't skip a day, and use back up if/when taking antibiotics, because they can make BC pills not work.

Your doctor should've explained this to you, basically with any form of pill I'm aware of, you take a full pack, you have a period, then you are covered as far as birth control and it is safe to have unprotected sex (with re: to pregnancy).
