they just invented it,it comes from the streets.Imagine someone bored without a basketball what would they do?get a rock and play knockout

I don't know really, never cared that much about it to put much effort into finding out why. Probably some ghetto/ street terminology. The better question is now that we know it is the rock, who can stop it?

It comes from stretball. In the getto you can aford a ball so use a rock. j/k but it is a streetball term.
