I think it all depends on what you are comfortable with. With our 1st child she was 5 and she never let me touch them to clean them so we had to let them close. Then when she was 10 we did it again and her ears got infected. Had to let them close again. then at 12 or so she did it again and it has been fine ever since.
When we had the twins we got their ears piecred when they were 4 months old and they never had a problem with them.
With the last child we did it when she was 3 months old and again she has never pulled at them or they have never bothered her. So in my opinion I think the younger the better

My mom let me choose to have my ears pierced when I was five. I had a rough time in the beginning though. An infection due to improper sanitation of my ear left an inch and a half scar up the back of my lobe. I also developed a nickel allergy. And I'm not posting all this to scare anyone, I just want the risks to be known. I highly suggest you read the following article and consider speaking briefly with your daughter's pediatrician before you get her ears pierced.

Well, I don't really think you should make too much of a big deal bout it if she's nagging you bout it ...... if that's wot you mean. My mum did that to us when we were kids and soon as my sister turned 15 and mum said yes she went and got 3 in each ear just to spite her !!
To answer your question, any age would be o.k. with me. My little girl is 7 and she was pestering me about it 12 months ago !! Honestly, they're way too advanced these days, arent they. Anyways, I just said yep sure thing, let's just do it now !! Of course, her smart pants 9 year old brother had to add his two bobs worth and proceeded to tell her that the needle was the size of your arm and they had to take a running jump before they pierced it through your ear !! Naughty boy !! I don't know how old your girl is but if I were you I'd just let her go, let her do it and just insist that it be tastefull and only ONE in each ear, for now anyway !!
Hope I helped a bit.
........ :0)

It depends. I think that earrings look a bit adult on a young girl, but cultures are different in these standards. For me, I think that ear piercing should be done when they are in 3rd or 4th grade, and no big hoops until junior high.

Most ppl get it done when they r very young i suggest do it now at a young age(if she is young) so the pain won`t be as bad Because i got my ears pieced @ 11 boy was i freaked out most ppl are extremely brave,So i would go with the young age.

it all depends on the parent. i got mine pierced when i was three. i say the sooner the better, because when they're younger idt it hurts as much to get it done and its easier on the child because they havent heard any crazy, rediculous horror stories about getting their ears pierced so they're not as scared....maybe wait until after they turn 2. i think that it looks a little strange when babies have pierced ears, but thats just my opinion. if you do get them pierced, make sure not to let her ears close up after a while. and if she doesnt want to wear earrings when she's older, she doesnt have to, but its still an option.

I would say by about 7 - 9 months...this way they are still very young and won't pull on the earings...then as they get older they will enjoy having them rather then remembering the pain when getting them in..

How young? I think you mean old. Anyway, she can be as old as you want her to be. I got my ears pierced when I was three. The younger you are the better.(It hurts less)

i was in 6th grade. much to my grandmother's dismay, my mom did not pierce them when i was a baby. My mom felt that I should be the one to decide if I wanted them or not. I got them pierced right after I got my braces for my teeth. Trade off for pain I suppose.
